A penny for my thoughts; Tsk, I'm just bored.
I pop by my favourite websites once a while during busy times during the semester, accompanying me through the endless hours of lessons. I was glad - glad that these websites were updated pretty often, often enough for me to have something new when i visited them the next time I was reminded or I thought about the sites.
They continually fed me information on the latest happenings in the IT gadget developments, the newest lenses and camera bodys, the incessant back-and-forth arguments on forums and the continuous stream of status updates on social networking sites.
Come the holidays, suddenly the websites update themselves oh-so-slowly. In reality, the websites were updating themselves at pretty much the same frequency, just that I visit them maybe at least 20x more in the holidays.
It's not that i've suddenly become crazed over those websites; it just so happens that I find myself in front of the same 19" screen and at the same chair and at the same part of the house, for almost a good 8hrs a day. Talk about a 'good' serving of LCD radiation, not that there's any.
It's almost painful to figure out what to do at the computer. Before, you were fighting for time to play those new game releases off the block. Now you wished that you had something else to do. For one, I was bored enough to go back to my blog to update it. Not that it helps. Not even 15 pages of status updates of "OMG AT HOME NOW SO SIANZZZZZZZZZZ" will even assist in helping cure the problem. Yeah, and the comments will only keep you occupied for 10mins, at best.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to propose a solution here. I guess you could find some new products on eBay, research on the models available for old lenses, organize your desktop, compile some photo albums, backup your data, or some other stuff that's productive at least.
Too bad I'm not motivated to start on the self-study program that was recently issued to me. I guess i'll start on it once i'm tired of skating. I'll probably skate soon. No, I WILL skate. Procrastination works against efficiency, tsk.
In other news, I took photos for my friends again! I find it a joy to give my friends a good portrait shot of themselves. Funny how once I was willing to run almost half the field to capture the shot of one of my friends flying the kite. The kite was low enough and the background was right, so I shifted myself into position to capture the shot. The events themselves were really good! The photography experience only added to my feel-goodness haha :) A beach event, A night cycling event, and a grass field event. I like this hobby indeed. See! Even after a year of photography and yet, I AM STILL learning new things! :)
I also went eBay shopping! Grabbed myself some UV and CPL filters, a mount adapter (so that I can use other brands' lenses!), and I bidded 2 same lenses successfully! The elation of getting the lens is indeed gratifying, after having made to wait 40mins before the bid ends, always in constant fear of being bid sniped. Heh, it was a bargain! I see how people get hooked to online shopping :P Damn, I really want that battery grip that costs $50 less online versus in SG! Well, now comes the 2 week wait for the items to ship to my place. Oh well, just what begets a cheapskate that skimps on shipping fees :P
Ah, see! Blogging is pretty therapeutic for me. It exercises my English skills and also helps me somehow rephrase the common rants to something less of an eyesore and bother to read. And for this case, it actually helped me remind myself that I'm not all cameras and computers.
I guess I should go play some badminton and go skate, cos' the icons on this desktop won't suddenly entertain me yo!
gibs.
