Reflections 04012010
"God, it’s 6:30am already. Oh well, time to wake up! " Tossing myself to an upright stance, I rubbed my eyes as I righted myself to a much needed sense of awareness. It's the kind of time where you wished that you would think faster. Sometimes you are really tempted to kick yourself, all because you took that extra 5 minutes of sleep, and it actually put you 20mins behind schedule. Bummer.
The frigid waters of the morning shower made for an even more awakening experience due to the morning torrent, which has made my sleep more pleasurable but has spliced the waters with more 'bite'.
Whilst under the shower, I was contemplating of what would be my attire of the day. Since I had the nifty 'Extra Pulp' T-shirt, I concluded that my black jeans and that T-shirt with a humorous pun with the similarly named movie 'Pulp Fiction', was what I was gonna wear.
Popped into my clothes, waxed my hair, got rid of those ever-growing stubbles of hair, and flew right down for an early morning session of internet re-intoxification. Yes, I barely made it past the day the last time the school's network was down; Boredom had a vice grip on my emotions.
Wishing my mum goodbye with a hug and a comforting exchange of well-wishes, I left for what would hopefully be a bright first day at school. Exiting the lift, the wind hit me with a cool breeze. A fine morning, I must say.
For starters, my bus service just glided past the junction that I was waiting at. I just swore "FML." as the bus deluded me yet again of reaching school on time. You say jaywalk then? Try jaywalking across an eight-street wide road, and yes it's almost as wide as a friggin' highway. Then hope came in the Express-equivalent of the same service! My eyes then shifted to the traffic lights. "Stop already dammit!" The bus was approaching fast, typical of its kind. Just 3 bus lengths away from the junction, the traffic lights switched, thank god :) Nevertheless, I still did the routine dash to the bus stop; Man, I probably got some fitness training through this :P
As the bus darted through the suburbs, deviating from the normal path a non-express equivalent bu service would take, while I appreciate that the bus usually gets me to school quicker, the rough handling, the aggressive acceleration and the rather-lacklustre suspension kinda makes for an uncomfortable sleep. I didn't sleep anyway, cos' I was busy fiddling with my phone, typing this! :)
The first lesson was as expected – non-captivating and listlessness ran amok amongst us. First, I looked around, happy to be around my friends. Then, I flipped out my file to check when the lesson ended. So much for being one of the better ones in my course.
As the hours passed, I was unexpectedly feeling more tired than expected. Lunch didn't help either. It soon dawned upon me that the abrupt change in my sleep cycle was impacting my energy levels. I wasn't gonna get away with waking up 6 hours earlier without any ramifications, cos' I usually wake up at midday during the holidays.
The lessons for the day was mostly boring, but thankfully the last lesson piqued my interest of sorts; unfortunately, my body wasn't holding up very well at all. I dozed off for a bit here and there throughout the day, thankfully the lecturers didn't reprimand me or anything of the sort!
The guys in the class entertain me throughout the lessons, anyday and everyday! Some with their satirical or cynical views, others with small talk that make you even wonder why'd you even had the conversation! Ahh, marvel at the art of pointless conversations.
Another bright spot! My friend actually offered to fetch me, together with another friend, back to our places, cos' we live within the same neighborhood. I couldn't help but doze off, having barely made it through the day.
Now I'm back home, and I have to wash myself up, then I have to settle the work. Thinking back, my life isn't that bad after all right?
~Peace~
